ABOUT US

Maker e.V. brings together the joint efforts of Industrieverein Sachsen 1828 e. V., Kreatives Chemnitz e. V., Haus E, and C³ Chemnitzer Event Organisation GmbH to organize the makers united festival as an annual highlight in Chemnitz, centrally located and free of charge for a broad audience.
Together, we aim to promote technical creativity and spark interest across all generations. We place a special focus on the next generation of skilled professionals, whom we actively involve through our dedicated Young Makers Day for schools.
The association also develops programs that provide easy access to the creative use of technology and craftsmanship, which can be used in schools throughout the year.

Many maker spaces that we support and connect across Saxony complement and foster creative, STEAM-related practices (Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences, Arts, and Technology).
They serve as a bridge between society and industry and function as hands-on skill labs where STEAM competencies as well as smart skills and future skills can be applied, learned, and experienced in a low-threshold, accessible way.

Industry can contribute here and gain direct access to future skilled professionals, as well as find opportunities for training, continuing education, and prototype development.

Educational institutions can enrich their curricula, and committed innovators can experiment and test new ideas.

The maker scene combines creativity with technical solutions and professional expertise. Its goal is to strengthen interest in STEAM subjects (Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences, Arts, and Technology) in dialogue with traditional craftsmanship, while also fostering smart skills.

Maker e.V. provides a foundation, a platform, local and international networks, and opportunities for exchange for makers, makerspaces, educational institutions, industry, and SMEs.
