SATURDAY JUNE 27th 2026

THE FESTIVAL BY MAKERS FOR MAKERS
Maker culture doesn’t just thrive in workshops, it grows stronger when it’s visible and shared.
At MAKERS UNITED, creative minds, companies, and institutions showcase their innovative technologies, products, and extraordinary inventions.
What’s special: visitors can try almost everything for themselves.
Participation is at the heart of the event, making technology, science, art, craftsmanship, and design accessible and engaging in a creative, low-threshold way.
MAKERS UNITED is the hands-on maker festival for everyone, where technology, craftsmanship, art, and science (STEM/STEAM) come together.
Find your strengths, discover something new, or just give it a try. At MAKERS UNITED, there’s definitely something for everyone!

MAKERS
UNITED 2024
HIGHLIGHTS

YOUNG MAKERS UNIVERSITY
with Simón Albers
known from TOGGO - WOOZLE GOOZLE on TV
Since childhood, "Why" has been Simón's favorite word, as the now 41-year-old has always wanted an explanation for everything. The explanations that didn’t exist, he figured out himself. This hasn’t changed to this day. He also went to university and studied Sports Science, English, and Psychology in Kiel. As one of the best graduates, he then went on to further training as a moderator and editor, eventually working his way through many stations, including 1LIVE and WDR, to land at SUPER RTL, where he… well, you guessed it… hosted a knowledge show called Woozle Goozle. After all these years, one thing has remained constant: passing on knowledge and discovering new things. Surely, Simón will not only pass on knowledge at the Kinder-Uni Chemnitz, but he will also learn something himself! The excitement is immense!
As part of makers united, Simon is planning his second Children’s University lecture, this time focusing on an interactive and relatable introduction to everyday psychology. Unlike makers united 2024, which centered on physics, this year he aims to explain psychological phenomena that children can observe and understand in their daily lives.
One example is the so-called confetti illusion: Colorful mesh wraps around fruits and vegetables—such as lemons or zucchinis—are often color-coordinated to make the produce appear fresher and more appealing. Once the mesh is removed, the product often appears less vibrant.
Albers’ goal is to introduce children to simple psychological effects they can recognize and apply in everyday life—in a fun, accessible way with strong memorability.
